Look:It is a powerful muscular looking dog. With a short coat. The color of fur is usually tan and liver,solid red,Fawn, red, reddish-fawn, dark fawn (reddish-brown), light fawn (pale yellow), to sable fawn
and fawn grey like a deer's winter coat,
. They have hanging ears like basset hounds but a bit smaller. They have dark brown eyes.

Temperament:Courageous, intelligent and poised they should be trained from an early age as it is a long and slow process.

Height\Weight: Height: Male:18.5-20.5inces Female:17-19inces Weight:44-55pounds

Health Problems:They can get bloated and hip dysplasia so an extra padded bed is recommended.

Living Conditions:not suited to cities. the require lots of space. This dog should only be owned be professional hunters.

Exercise:they need to be walked twice daily about 40-60 min. only let them free in a fenced yard because like basset hounds the can pick up a sent and not pay attention when u call them back.

Life Expectancy:
10 – 14 years

Litter Size:2-4 pups

Grooming: a weekly brush with a firm bristled brush. only wash them when needed.

Some fun facts:these dogs originate from Germany. They are also known as Bayrischer Gebirgsschweisshund.
