look:they have smooth coats and are very muscular for a small dog. they have hazel eyes.there ears stand up and are quite small.it has a short shiny and fine coat (its fur).the color of the fur could be pure black, copper, red, chestnut red, or tricolor in combinations of black, tan and white.
temperament:the Basenji is alert,affectionate,energetic and curious. They are very playful also makes an excellent pet as long it is handled frequently from a young age. They are very intelligent animals and very good with training (has a very stong desire to pleas. They socialize well but can be some what reserved.but it can make a strong bond with humans.And should only be with dogs but no other animals.best with older children who can display leadership. They love to chew so give them a bunch of toys to chew. most recommended that you don't have chain link fences because they are excellent climbers. They also wash them selves like cats so no need to bathe them.They can also be fast,frisky and are tireless players. they need daily exercise. The owner need to be calm ,assertive and confident.

Living Conditions:This dog can do good in apartments if it gets enough exercise. They are fine with a small backyard. Also is recommended that you have 2 or 3 other Basenji's to keep them happy they will not fight with each other.
Exercise:This dog must have good exercise daily. they will become lazy and fat (over weight). this type of dog NEEDS DAILY WALKS!

Litter Size:4-6 pups. female Basenji dogs go into heat once a year unlike other dogs.
Grooming:This dog is a good dog for people with allergies since they shed little to no hair.

dog:D) depending on the dogs it can also howl growl and crow. this dog also hates wet weather.They are also known as the Dog of the Pharaohs because originated from Egypt and were found in Egyptian tombs and wall paintings of 5000 years ago.
