Deerhound

look:This breed is tall a slim and looks like a shaggy coated greyhound. The nose is black and sometimes blue(a greyish color). Brown or hazel eyes. It can be colors such as blue gray, brindle and black, yellow and sandy red or red fawn, sometimes with black ears and muzzle and sometimes a little white on the chest,feet and tail.

Temperament:
They are gentle and well-mannered. As well as polite,affectionate,loving,friendly,excellent with kids,coverages,dignified,devoted and loyal. Despite there large size they aren't watch or guard dogs due to them loving everyone they meet.But they also need a firm and confident master. But should not be around any other animals. these dogs barley ever bark.

Health Problems: These dog are at risk of bloating so only feed them 2-3 small meals a day.But don't exercise after a meal.

Living Conditions:They will do okay in an apartment with a lot of exercise. They are not at all active indoors. They will do best in a large fenced yard though.

Exercise:They need to be taken for a long daily walk. They are great jogging companions. Don't let them off there leash in an unfenced area.

Life Expectancy:10 years is average.

They will become unpredictable with children and adults they do not know. If it gets really bad, they may become unpredictable with their owners. They are recommended with older children who can display good leader ship.

temperament:They are a sweet and intelligent dog. They are very loyal to there masters. They are affectionate to people they know well. They can be trained in obedience but they have a mind of there owns and are less worried about pleasing humans than other dogs.But are very intelligent and are capable learners.To train this breed you need to be firm and consistent. They are quite and barely bark. Like the basset hound they cant be trusted off leash and should only be let off in an fenced of area. And should only have dogs no other pets. They get along ok with kids but isn't ideal that they are a the child's companion.

look:They are large powerful looking dogs.They have diamond shaped eyes. It comes in many colors which are a deep hazel - a yellow. They have long droopy ears. They have muscular front legs. They have very soft ears and heads. They can be black & tan, liver & tan, and red & tawny and red. Also they could have a bit of white on there chests,feet and tip of the tail.

temperament: This dog is a kind,patient,mild-mannered and very lovable. They also are gentle and affectionate. They are also great with kids. They are good nature companions. They will just lie there and let your children poke,prod and climb all over them (so don't worry about them snapping at your children)But do make sure your kids dont hurt or pester the dog because they will sit there and take it But they love the attention from them. They are energetic and rambunctious when little. Also very determined and independent. They need a firm but not a heavy handed trainer.it needs a calm but also stern trainer which will bring out its willingness. They owner will need plenty of patience. But don't expect them to be to obedient because in there nature they are gentle but hard to obedience train. They need a daily walk because if they dont get a daily walk they will become hard to handle. Socialize them well to stop them from being timed.
