Bavarian Mountain Hound

Look:It is a powerful muscular looking dog. With a short coat. The color of fur is usually tan and liver,solid red,Fawn, red, reddish-fawn, dark fawn (reddish-brown), light fawn (pale yellow), to sable fawn
and fawn grey like a deer's winter coat,
. They have hanging ears like basset hounds but a bit smaller. They have dark brown eyes.

Temperament:Courageous, intelligent and poised they should be trained from an early age as it is a long and slow process.

Height\Weight: Height: Male:18.5-20.5inces Female:17-19inces Weight:44-55pounds

Health Problems:They can get bloated and hip dysplasia so an extra padded bed is recommended.

Living Conditions:not suited to cities. the require lots of space. This dog should only be owned be professional hunters.

Exercise:they need to be walked twice daily about 40-60 min. only let them free in a fenced yard because like basset hounds the can pick up a sent and not pay attention when u call them back.

10 – 14 years

Grooming: a weekly brush with a firm bristled brush. only wash them when needed.

Basset Hound

look: a Basset Hound is short and heavy dog. It has soft brown droopy eyes. They have large paws. The coat is short and dense,short and shiny. It comes in many colors the most common are black,tan ,red.white with chestnut of sand colored markings.

temperament:This dog is gentle,sweet,devoted and well behaved by nature. They are great in families. they are always friendly and is unnatural for them to be vicious,moody or harsh. These dogs are not timid very affectionate with it's master and great with kids of any ages. But this dog can be stubborn with out a firm owner. Bassets love to do tricks for food. It is difficult to house train them but with positivity,patient and gentle training. But when it picks up a interesting smell it's hard to keep there attention and often if you have it off leash and it picks up a smell they won't come back when u call so never let your dog off leash in a unfenced area.

Health Problems:NEVER OVER FEED IT CAN PUT STRAIN ON THERE SPINE AND LEGS. Prone to bloat. So only feed them 2 of 3 SMALL meals a day not one big large meal.

Living Conditions:they do fine in a apartment. they are playful indoor but if outside they will play and run for hours when given the chance. They will do okay without a yard, but should be given plenty of opportunities to run and play to keep it healthy and thin.

Exercise:best to give it a long daily walk

Grooming:Wipe under the ears every week and trim toenails regularly. This breed is a constant shedder.The smooth short hair coat it easy to groom.

Basenji

look:they have smooth coats and are very muscular for a small dog. they have hazel eyes.there ears stand up and are quite small.it has a short shiny and fine coat (its fur).the color of the fur could be pure black, copper, red, chestnut red, or tricolor in combinations of black, tan and white.

temperament:the Basenji is alert,affectionate,energetic and curious. They are very playful also makes an excellent pet as long it is handled frequently from a young age. They are very intelligent animals and very good with training (has a very stong desire to pleas. They socialize well but can be some what reserved.but it can make a strong bond with humans.And should only be with dogs but no other animals.best with older children who can display leadership. They love to chew so give them a bunch of toys to chew. most recommended that you don't have chain link fences because they are excellent climbers. They also wash them selves like cats so no need to bathe them.They can also be fast,frisky and are tireless players. they need daily exercise. The owner need to be calm ,assertive and confident.

Living Conditions:This dog can do good in apartments if it gets enough exercise. They are fine with a small backyard. Also is recommended that you have 2 or 3 other Basenji's to keep them happy they will not fight with each other.

Exercise:This dog must have good exercise daily. they will become lazy and fat (over weight). this type of dog NEEDS DAILY WALKS!
